Sabi Sabi Game Reserve – South Africa

Since I’ve started planning my trip to Africa for 2012, I’ve been doing extensive research into lodges and places to stay and this particular resort caught my eye.  I’ve always been a large fan of luxury and I’ve always believed that you can enjoy the great outdoors in luxury and style.  Although this resort is completely out of my budget for the particular trip that I’m planning, I thought it would be appropriate to write about it for those who are thinking of celebrating a special occasion or those wanting to pamper themselves.

With over 30 years of service, this award winning game reserve offers luxury, service, exceptional cuisine, and up close and personal wildlife encounters.  Comprised of four different unique lodges, you will be inspired by the unique flavour and style of each.  The Selati Camp offers 8 suites that have full en-suite bathrooms with a private alfresco shower located under the trees to view the stars at night.  The Bush Lodge which consists of 25 spacious lodges, overlooks a waterhole.  Little Bush Camp offers 6 different luxury suites which would be ideal for small groups or family and friends travelling together.  These lodges overlook the riverbed, with each suite having its own private viewing deck that includes a heated spa deck to enjoy the natural beauty this reserve is known for.  Last but not least, is the Earth Lodge.  So incredibly unique and environmentally ‘chic’, these 13 ultra-luxurious lodges offer a private plunge pool along with butler service.

With the incredible rooms here aside, there is so much more that this resort offers.  From spas to a newly opened Elefun Centre which is designed for children to learn and appreciate nature, there is always an activity to keep every traveller busy regardless of their age.  However, the safaris are the main reason why people visit a game reserve.  Daily safaris are offered where you not only witness the ‘big five’ but you have the opportunity to learn about these fascinating creatures in detail and the habitat that surrounds them.

Thinking of a safari themed wedding?  Get truly inspired and start off your adventure of marriage together while being surrounded by friends, family and the wildlife of South Africa.  Can you imagine saying your vows over a waterhole at sunset while the elephants slowly walk past you in the distance?  What an unforgettable memory that would be.  Wedding packages are available at the lodge with the staff taking care of all of your needs to make your magical day even more special.

If you truly want a romantic honeymoon or a wedding in an exotic location, it doesn’t get any better than this.  Start off your marriage in style or celebrate that big anniversary by treating yourself to luxury and service.

You only live once………….
