December 1st, 2010 – Pearl Resort & Spa – Moorea, French Polynesia

One of the top 3 destinations requested by my honeymoon clients is Tahiti.  The ever growing fascination of brides and grooms wanting to spend their honeymoon in an over the water bungalow is growing at a very fast rate.  There is nothing more serine than to open your door every morning to look out at the blue satin sea that surrounds your accommodation and to see marine life swim by your paradise oasis.

There are many recommendations that I would suggest in Tahiti (which I will write about another time) but I thought I would start with one of the resorts that many brides and grooms choose to stay at.  The Pearl Resort & Spa in Moorea is located on 7.5 acres of beachfront surrounded by mountain slopes, volcanic peaks, and crystalline lagoons.

The resort offers 28 Over Water Bungalows, 9 Beach Bungalows, 28 Garden Bungalows and 30 Garden Rooms.  Each rooms is equipped with ceiling fans, air conditioning, sundecks, and  the overwater bungalows have a large sundeck with sitting area that has direct access to the lagoon.  There are two restaurants which sports the typical Polynesian style buffet and you can enjoy the spa  on site after each meal if you like.  There is no such thing as ‘All-Inclusive’ in Tahiti so generally the food and alcohol is an extra cost but some meals can be worked into the price of your honeymoon if you desire.

In a location like this, you will be spending a lot of time in the water and this resort includes snorkelling equipment and kayaks free of charge.  Other excursions you take are deep sea fishing, whale & dolphin watching, horseback riding, glass bottom boat rides and jet skiing.

The pictures speak for themselves.  You’re honeymoon is a once in lifetime occasion so why not start off your journey together in style.

TIP:  If you already have the linens and china remember to check into honeymoon registry’s to help you pay for that magical honeymoon.  It’s more affordable than you think.
